I look at those beautiful, character filled windows and think.... I would rather get new, not as pretty, energy efficient windows that will keep the drafts out. We have a huge old barn and it has be...I so agree! We have a huge old barn and it has been a never ending supply of materials for building. Our raised bed planks, from the barn. Our cold frame wood and old windows, from the barn. We try to find a way to reuse or re-purpose anything already here to add to the infrastructure of the property. This years big project will have to be rebuilding the garden fence and hence expanding it once again. We plan to use the straight branches of old mulberry trees for the fence posts. They are known for their durability and the fact that the resist rot. Great post!
